What to see in Mount Bromo-Ijen Crater East Java 3 Days Packages Tours?

The main sight is of course Mount Bromo. Mount Bromo is one of two volcanoes that were created following a massive eruption which created an enormous caldera in which are the active Mount Bromo and the non-active Mount Batok.

The Mount Bromo's caldera has seen been filled with grey sands, and is called Laut Pasir or Sand Sea. The scenery is reminiscent of earth in its primeval age or a moonscape. This is more so when a layer of mist carpets the caldera floor.

Mount Bromo is always bubbling because it's an active volcano, and its edges are tinged with sulphur.

Mount Batok (2440m) is a dormant volcano at the northern centre of the huge caldera. It is now growing with vegetation, mostly cemara trees that can thrive in the volcanic ash.

To the north of the caldera is Mount Penanjakan (2770m). As it has a paved road, it can be reached by jeeps and even tour buses. It is crowded with tourists at around 5:00am. If you are here at a later time, you probably get the place all to yourself.

Ijen Plateau, the Ijen Plateau is a large upland area southeast of Bondowoso, which includes the peaks and foothills of Gunung Ijen, Gunung Raung (3332m), Gunung Suket (2950m) and Gunung Merapi (2800m), plus several smaller peaks. The entire area is rural, coffee plantations and vegetable gardens blending into the forested uplands, with a few widely dispersed villages. The highlight is the dramatic lake, Kawah Ijen , in the crater of the dormant volcano from which dozens of miners dig sulphur by hand.

Day 01: Bali - Jampit (Ijen Slope)
08.00-08.30 Morning pick up at your hotel in Bali. Road to Gilimanuk for ferry crosses to Ketapang in East Java. After lunch proceed to Bondowoso then Jampit on the slope of Mount Ijen. Overnight at Arabica Homestay.

Day 02: Jampit - Ijen - Tosari
Early morning drive to Pal Tuding, then hike to Mount Ijen. The area offers savannah, beautiful panoramas, dormant volcano and placid brightly yellow crater-lake. Then return to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast downhill drive to Losari Village on the foot of Mount Bromo. Lunch en route. Dinner and overnight at Bromo Cottages.

Day 03: Tosari - Mount Bromo - Out
At around 04.00 A.M. starts the trip by jeep and followed on horse back across the sand sea, then climb 245 stair cases to reach the rim crater of Mount Bromo where the sunrise coming up beautifuly. Then return to hotel for breakfast and rest. From this point you may choose either transfer to Surabaya or return to Bali.
